Diversity Institute’s “Jazz on the Mississippi” Sept 12th

Over the years, the Jazz Festival has spread from North Portland throughout the entire city, developing into one of the city’s premier jazz events. Previous years have seen unique, landmark performances from a number of different artists. This year the Diversity Institute’s “Jazz on the Mississippi” is the site of the official kick off celebration of the N/NE study/project sponsored by the Portland Development Commission which teamed up with a number of organizations, uniting in their love of the arts and, more specifically, jazz. In this study/project, all citizens are invited to help PDC identify resources for small businesses, housing, homeownership and community livability projects in the North and Northeast urban renewal areas.  Special thanks to DJ O.G. ONE who is hosting the event and booked all the entertainment for the evening.
