It wasn’t difficult for Hussein Al-Baiaty to find his passion for art, at an early age he was surrounded by the visual poetry that is painting, drawing, and sculpting, artistically expressed by his father. He always knew he had an exceptional talent as an artist, but it wasn’t until he began the Architectural Program at Portland State University that he would really begin to mold his craft. In 2005, Hussein decided he wanted to make a living using his skills in design and bought his own Printing Press, he than started printing fliers and T-Shirts for those in demand while still attending college. Often using the campus facilities for his developing business, he found himself screen-printing until 3am at times, progressing to finishing homework due in class that started that same morning. But this dedicated entrepreneur’s work ethic and insomnia would soon pay off….
Al-Baiaty officially opened his printing business in 2006, titling it “Elusive Printing” which is located at 18924 SW Shaw St. in Beaverton, OR. His company prides itself on their Eco-Friendly water-based Ink and 100% Organic Cotton alternatives they use for custom designed shirts. He strives to solidify his name as an environmental and community based company by providing high quality organic options at affordable prices (prices available at www.Elusiveprinting.com).
Elusive Printing’s versatility does not stop at printing, they design as well. After gaining the knowledge necessary at PSU to successfully design promotional artwork for customers, he took the tools and programs learned and applied them towards the business. With the full package of designing and printing incorporated with Elusive Printing, Hussein sets out to benefit the community by adapting to individual’s budgets and providing a convenient one-stop service.
Even before Elusive Printing was established, Hussein had a goal to launch his very own clothing line. This March, Hussein will be releasing his unique and stylish clothing brand called “Elusive Collections”. This collection will feature fictional characters portraying the daily trials and tribulations that men and women of all types have gone through in recent centuries and will go through in years to come, attempting to creatively relate to the majority of our diverse planet. The clothing will only be made with highest quality of 100% Organic Cotton and Water-based Ink.

I just love Hussien’s work. I actually own a painting by him that he did about 3 years ago of Alicia Keys (one of my favoriate artist). He also has help me bring and old vintage jacket of a friend of mine ( LIV WARFIELD http://www.livalittle.com ) back to life by painting a beautiful image of a sista with a fro, listening to music on a old school headphone set. This man is truly gifted and I am so glad to hear that he is doing so well with his printing buisness. I truly know where to go to now for any printing project I have in the future.
