About

boat1What’s happening PDX is a non-profit online networking blogazine that allows the Portland urban community the opportunity to network and read about community events online. Our mission is to serve as the premier resource for connecting aspiring and accomplished minorities in Oregon. Our goal is to share ideas about our community on Twitter, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, MySpace, and YouTube. Together, we can assist the Portland youth in realizing their goals.  RahMiel Mitchell created the non-profit “What’s Happening PDX” blogazine to serve as a social media and networking platform to influence Portland’s young minority residents. The “What’s Happening PDX” website will publicize important news, events, and activities that affect the local urban culture. RahMiel hopes to create the most open and accessible online urban community and inspire Portland, Oregon’s minority youth.

By using the proceeds of “What’s Happening PDX” to provide home computers to less fortunate urban youth, he aims to introduce them to networks and positive leaders than can help them in reaching their goals.

RahMiel has a Bachelor of Science in Management. He combines this traditional education with his knowledge of cutting-edge technology to share his passion for bettering the lives of minority students. He also hopes to explore the use of how Internet media can build a community and create value for local residents.

When RahMiel isn’t involved in the website, he enjoys traveling the world playing baseball, and has enjoyed games everywhere from Alaska to Japan.

As a child he would write short fictional stories provided with illustrations to bring to life his vivid imagination. He excelled as an English and Writing student all through school and began to express his creative mind through poetry and rhyming as a teenager. After three projects and a locally popular album titled “Write Now!” released in Fall 2008, he would be considered a notable Hip Hop artist amongst the Portland scene, and highly respected for the contributions he makes towards the community he grew up in. Diezel P is now back on the path he once followed as a teenager, proving that Hip Hop can be used as a tool to benefit, educate, and positively promote the Urban community.
