www.youtube.com Raj is tutoring a girl friend. who has a dog who is pregnant and is going to give Raj one of the puppies in exchange for tutoring her..but Raj’s family thinks he is going to have a baby with her. What’s Happening is loosely based on the 1975 movie Cooley High written by Eric Monte. Monte created What’s Happening and was also a co-creator and writer for the TV series Good Times. This is one of my favorite shows of all time, if not my favorite show of all time. From Raj mumbling under his breath, to Rerun worshiping a head of lettuce, to Dwayne just being along for the ride, What’s Happening was as much a slice of Americana as such shows as “I Love Lucy” and “Friends”. I loved seeing them get into one mess after another. For instance, the episode when the guys apparently broke a brand new TV set that was used for a church raffle when they dropped it at Raj’s house. They counted on Rerun to win the set, since he purchased about 80 tickets. How ironic that the one ticket he used to pay off his lunch tab to Shirley the waitress was the winning ticket for the TV? So Shirley wound up with the TV.

What’s Happening in Egypt Explained: Egypt, protests, etc 101

This is a “quick” summary of the events that have been happening in Egypt from Jan 25 to Jan 28th. It is by no means a comprehensive account of events. But some of the bigger, key highlights. Things that happened after I finished recording: • Mubarak spoke (It’s a recorded speech). Max Fisher “just breathtakingly oblivious and dishonest.” Mubarak doesn’t sound like he’s leaving. He’s trying to align himself with the protesters. Mubarak says he has asked the government to resign—everyone but himself. • Obama had a 30-minute phone call with Mubarak • Obama says there “must” be reform. The bottom line seems to be that the US will continue to back Mubarak for the time being. • The army is reportedly making protest gatherings in Cairo’s streets very difficult. It’s also 2:30 am there, so things may be starting to wind down for the evening.
